i agree with passe831 obviously EVERY olympic horse is on autopliote ......not these arent the little push button ponies you ride and no offense but if you saying all Eric did was get him to the fences your wrong cause to reach this level they need a special bond he could have stopped anytime if he didnt wanna satisfy eric

Love this vid! Hickstead and Eric Lamaze are my favorite SJ team ;DD My young mare acts JUST like him, haha. My friends and family all call her little Hickstead =] Love the song as well =]

I'm from New Zealand and my favourite horse rider is Mark Todd of cause but Eric Lamaze is one of my favourite horse riders.

Before Eric got hickstead he wanted to bit one of the horses I ride but we turned down his offer because we love all of our horses!

There are also an AMAZING amount of aids he is using that you can't see. When you are a good horse rider, you should be able to make your horse turn on a dime without using your rein, only your leg, and no one should be able to see your leg move. Not saying I am that good yet, but I can do a 10meter (quite small on horseback) circle using very minimal rein that you almost can't see and leg that you almost can't see as well. He is probably giving hickstead constant cues, you just can't see them.

yes, hickstead is the one who's going over the jumps, and naturally horses set themselves up for the jump.
