Does anyone experience what I have come to call "the Holdsworth Effect"?Let me expain.I go see Allan perform. He plays a known older piece. But he being the master of improvisation that he is,changes the known piece so much that you would get lost if you did'nt know the song chord changes.I saw Al at a Chad Wackerman drum clinic in 2002.He and the band played a song that was changed so much that I did'nt recognize untill half way through it that it was the tune "Gattox" from Velvet Darkness!!
Well,I am corrected. He wasn't playing "Gattox',but "Gas Lamp Blues"which borrows the progression of "Gattox".

Me thinks it is called "Madame Vintage". Accent the "a" in "Vintage", soft "g", as in French pronunciation.
