Well, the most common Enneagram Types for ENFPs are 7,2 and 4 (according to multiple studies). And ENFPs certainly can live as much in the moment to escape pain, as they can live in their imaginations. I am an ENFP 7 sx/so myself :P

There are some ENFP's, especially of the Enneagram 7 type that do live in the moment. I understand that ESFP and ESTP are the natural "Mercurial" types, but ENFP's can be also just to a lesser --and different, degree.

I disagree with you about ENFPs. They don't live in the moment to escape boredom and pain. 7s definitely fit ESFP though and most certainly ESTP.

Creative 7 :) 7's (and 4's) can seem like the mercurial types :) ESFP's and ENFP's are often 7's.
