Jeremy Backhouse discusses the Vivace Chorus concert in Guildford on 16th May 2009 which includes a brand new commission for choir, children's choir and Jazz trio by Will Todd called Te Deum.
The concert was a huge success. At the end of the "Te Deum", the audience gave it a standing ovation that shook the building! The choir of over 100 Guildford school children was outstanding and Will Todd's jazz piano playing has to be heard to be believed. His jazz trio is brilliant and Bethany Halliday's beautiful soprano voice soars above all with effortless virtuosity. The Vivace Chorus singers put their hears and souls into the music to make for a landmark event.
