@dirtbikeryzz not at a privately owned business. sonic has the right to refuse service to anyone. it is only illegal to not accept them when a debt to the government is being paid like a speeding ticket or a toll booth.

Still wrong, yes pennies are legal tender but businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, like being a pain in the ass and trying to pay with all pennies. It is illegal however, for a tow truck company to refuse pennies for their impound fee, because since they towed your car, you incurred debt.

Go ahead and take out a book and learn about 'them federal laws,' specifically the "Coinage Act of 1965"
