Bruce Charles 'Bill' Mollison is a researcher, author, scientist, teacher and naturalist from Australia. He is considered to be the 'father of permaculture', an integrated system of design, co-developed with David Holmgren, that encompasses not only agriculture, horticulture, architecture and ecology, but also economic systems, land access strategies and legal systems for businesses and communities. He received the Right Livelihood Award in 1981 with Patrick van Rensburg.

  • The wisedom in this man - Bill Mollison. A great teacher. Would love to spend a day visiting with him. If this is your first Permaculture video, then by all means, key in " Bill Mollison" on Youtube for an absolute treat in learning to garden naturally. Permaculture goes way beyond organic gardening and has many concepts that you may have never heard before. Bill is one of the earth's and mankind's best friends.

    Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Wonderful video. Lets hope that people adopt his ideas. This would save the world.

  • @lnoagkois -Yet Vegas can suck the Colorado river dry... Only a few western states have restrictions on rainwater collection. The people need to remind those states that the people own the gov't. In the meantime, yards can easily be landscaped to direct rain flow from roofs, paved areas, & lawns into depressions in the ground which allow water to percolate into the ground. They can be filled with decorative rock, better yet mulch or soil with plants growing. Enjoy exploring the options!

  • speaking of taking responsibility for our lives. self determination. self governance. stop waiting/wanting the government to do for you.

  • @lnoagkois i could give less than a fuck about the law... If you had half a brain you would feel the same. thats whats wrong with the world. people listen and obey even when they don't want to or understand why.

  • btw It's illegal in many states to collect rainwater. All water is owned by the government and the laws reflect it. The attitude is water must flow. Yet larger corporations seem to be able to create monopolies on water (e.g. coke in india) I wonder what Bill Mollison would have thought of that.

  • When was this interview recorded?

  • @ThanksgivingWalk Thanks for sharing this interview! I feel so blessed to have had been exposed to the design science of permaculture. Much love, respect & gratitude to Bill Mollison as the figurehead father of these ethics & principles and the author of our design manual. I am a pioneer member of a community currently being formed and actively searching for permaculture-minded individuals to join our team. Search "One Community Ranch" for all the details on "A NEW WAY TO LIVE"

  • Learn about trompe power and free yourselves... ..with permaculture.

  • someone once described bill as a "walking, talking inspiration"... it is my lifes ambition to be that for people....I have already taken my PDC and completed a 10 week internship with Geoff Lawton whom bill "handed the baton down to" so to speak, when he gave up tagari farm in northern NSW... I want to live and breath permaculture for the rest of my life, everything else is a dead end.

  • Bill, Dan Sepp, and all the others out there fighting the good fight, heres to you~LokiGen
