Manchester United are set to sign Bordeaux's 20-year-old forward Gabriel Obertan, according to reports. Obertan, who has been described by scouts as "rapid, physical and skilful in front of goal", was also wanted by Arsenal, Milan and Internazionale, claimed the French newspaper L'Equipe.

The Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud was quoted as saying: "It's actually a great opportunity, we would love to see Gabriel evolve at such a club."
L'Equipe compared Obertan to Liverpool's French forward Daniel Ngog and added that the fee has not been disclosed but an agreement between United and Bordeaux has been in place for weeks.
Obertan broke into the Bordeaux side in 2006-07 and spent half of last season on loan at Lorient. He played 16 times for the Ligue 1 champions in the first half of the 2008-09 campaign and scored one goal in 15

  • @linhtran1983 EAT YOUR WORDS BITCH

  • hes not the best of players at newcastle tbh, as a newcastle fan i wach the match every week and i think he is a great player but is just far to lazy but i think if he stays for another season or two he will fit into the premier leagues pace well , he could be a real star and he has the skill so whats stopping him ? he seems to be really quick down the line but doesnt always use his pace he drifts into the middle , he has created a couple of goals for us but i wish he would have more confidence

  • obertan is shit

  • he has a lot of skill and speed. at manutd he had a lot of competition with the likes of ronaldo, nani, giggs and now valencia, young. he was always gonna find it difficult to gain a regular spot on the team. he will almost definiately be a hit at newcastle. it would be nice to see him at utd in the future

  • @linhtran1983 LOL

  • @bubulala5 yeah.. about that he is going to newcastle

  • failure lol

  • awful music

  • he is a failure when he played against Barnsley he played well but not good enough

  • I hope that he will succeed in Man Utd and get more first team appeareance. He will do well in 2012 !!
