**Included in this video:
8 Directional Movement
Dashing
Dashing versus Walking
Explanation of a scroll's combos
Explanation of air and knockback
Explanation of jumping

All the captions from the video have been reproduced below, in order:

Chapter 1: 8 Directional Movement
1)You can move in 8 directions, up, down, left, right, as well as up/left, up/right, down/left and down/right.
2)Don't limit yourself to horizontal, left to right, or vertical, up to down movement.
3)By opening your movement up to all 8 directions, you open more possibilities to both evade, as well as catch your opponent in a combo.
4)Most new players fall into the horizontal movement trap.
5)By learning not to limit your movement to left/right and up/down, you will also be able to learn more advanced fighting techniques covered in this tutorial series.

Chapter 2: Dashing
1)Double tapping any directional button (up/down/left/right), will allow you to dash.
2)Don't forget, you can also move in 8 directions while dashing. Use this to your advantage.
3)As you can see, dashing is much faster than walking. However, dashing has its limitations.
4)While dashing, you're limited to the following actions:
Shoulder tackling, slide kicking, grabbing, and countering

Chapter 3: Dashing versus Walking
1)Walking has its benefits over dashing; Dashing also has benefits over walking.
2)Consider the limitations on dashing in each situation. Walking does not have the same restrictions.
3)Walking is slow, but allows you to perform a combo, and immediately block, unlike dashing.

Chapter 4: Combos
One press, two press, three press:
One hit, two hits, three hits!
1)Every scroll has unique punching and kicking techniques that can be strung into combos.
2)There's the dedicated punch combo, the dedicated kick combo, as well as intermediate combos that utilize both punches and kicks, for example, default's punch punch kick combo.
3)As you saw in the first part of this section, each combo has a distinct number of times the appropriate button must be pressed for a distinct number of hits to occur in the combo.
4)Protip: You don't always have to finish your combo.
5)The final attack in any combo is called a "finisher". Every finisher, with a few exceptions, possesses two unique properties: AIR and KNOCKBACK.

Chapter 5: Air and Knockback
*AIR is how high the opponent is knocked upward, into the air (lolololololol, bet you couldn't figure that out)
This will become an important property later in this tutorial, in regards to juggling.
*Knockback is how far the opponent is sent back from the map position of your finishing move.
This is important for edging opponents and avoiding being edged yourself.
*Air and knockback occasionally mix in a combo's finisher, but for all intents and purposes, are seperate properties.
Here is an example of knockback without any air.

Chapter 6: The Physics of Jumping
1)Jumping is an important part of movement, dodging, as well as hitting your opponent.
THIS IS A SINGLE JUMP
THIS IS A DOUBLE JUMP
2)Hitting the jump button in midair allows you to double jump. The second jump is slightly weaker.
3)Depending upon when you double jump, the amount of distance you cover will vary.
4)The direction of the first jump is seperate from the double jump. You can change the direction you're jumping on the double jump, for instance, if you jump left on the first jump, you can press up/right diagonal to double jump in that new direction. This can be used to confuse or bait your opponents.
5) You can perform a much weaker jump by performing the first jump without pressing any directional button and without moving, then pressing any of the 8 directions on the double jump to turn subtly.

That's all for this video. Stay tuned for part 2 of the Beginner's Tutorial.
