Finally, someone showing how to actually make a brush! I'm sick of tutorials that are just people downloading other peoples brushes. Thankyou very much for this great tutorial :).

GREAT TUTORIAL THANKS.!!!! It was so easy to follow and understand. I could even write it all down on paper so I can go back later and do it myself.. Also wonderful that you didn't spend the time coughing or sniffing like so many others do. Like who needs to hear that ay? FANTASTIC WORK.. KEEP THEM COMING.

What kind of Gimp software do you have? like, 2.3, 2.6, etc. I have 2.6.

I have 2.6 also, though I've customized my interface a little bit, so that's why it may look different from yours.

In Ubuntu I think the brushes folder location is pretty similar, just you start in your Home folder instead of your user folder. Also, the .gimp-2.6 folder might be hidden by default, so you may need to press Ctrl+H (I think).
You can always open GIMP, go to Edit->Preferences, click on the "+" next to "Folders" in the list on the left, and click on the "Brushes" item below that. Then the area on the right will show you which folders GIMP looks for your brushes.
