When I realized this entire episode is an homage to Frank Miller's 'Batman: The Dark Knight Return'.

Older, more worn out Batman, Tank-like Batmobile, Bruce Wayne's medical issues, gigantically muscular Batman, and unless you're oblivious, Freeze saying "The Dark Knight Returns". I mean. C'mon.
