Is that the version with an effects loop? I'm guessing it is if your running a volume box through the loop to cut the volume down conning from the power tubes. Those volume boxes are robbing the fatter sound you get from the post gain (power tube) turned up. I have this reissue head without the loop.

@simonbeckwith Hmm that would be better because that one has a master volume. I'll be using it with a band so it will be loud, but not like a plexi loud!

@Dutchieboy20 cheers!! i think he uses a jcm 800, which would have more gain than this particular amp. you could probably get quite close though :)

Man I like these tones. I wanna get the tone from Dookie by Green Day. You think this amp can get that?

Its not a mic, is it? Cause you would need one to get the richness of tube sound... I myself didnt like the tones... no offense

@rodolforibas yeh it is miced up, only a cheap one, and yeh it doesnt sound as good as it could due to the power tap attenuator (rubbish!!)

Funny I've used a volume box in a Bugera plexi clone and ran it through the back of the effects loop...The same set up seen here, differant name on the box but same concept.
It cuts into the power section tubes and only allows pre amp tubes to be heard. Power tubes give you the fatter sound combined with pre amp tubes.
I eventually bought a Marshall Power-brake and ended up blowing a power transformer in the Bugera Plexi...Sold the amp for a $100 as is and sold the Power brake for $150...

@JBL8863 I agree totally that the volume box seemed to reduce gain and fullness, the power brake i bought afterwards worked far better, but again, was never as good as actually cracking the amplifier.
As for bugera, all i have to say is anything made by beringer i would steer clear of for serious use!...no offence.
This marshall never blew up from use with a power brake, although i ended up selling it as i wasnt really using it to its full potential at the time, regret it now though!

@simonbeckwith To bad you sold it I would have offered a trade for my EVHiii head I have now...I have it for sale on Craigslist for $1300. No issues still in very new condition. I'd preffer something like this over the 3 channels and 18 knobs I have to look at.
Simple is better for me as my eye sight is getting tougher to see every knob on it.
