  • i have better luck with my hook above the sinker....idk know if thats a redneck way or something, im not a redneck, i just have used both techniques my whole life andi just get more success my way...id say about 40percent difference...faster better results in my opinion

  • @ThleTruth That's very interesting and thanks for sharing. Until next time, good luck and good fishing.

  • @thundermistlures just a regular triline knot with about 7 inches of line excess, then tie the sinker on at the bottom under the hook, leaving about 6 inches from the bottom or sinker..i think it gives the cat fish easier finding, and distributes more smell instead of sticking to the bottom or in mud, or thick weeds...just my opinion...

  • @ThleTruth Thank you for tuning in and sharing your opinion with us and our viewers. Until next time, good luck and good fishing!

  • Whats the best catfish bait to use in Ohio?

  • @ThleTruth One of the best catfish baits you can use in Ohio is fresh cut bluegill (as long as your regulations allow it) Fresh cut bluegill or sunfish, will work great for you!

  • @thundermistlures o yea and most importantly to me, more hook sets, because the sinker on the bottom sicks to mud or what ever, holding the bait somewhat firm gving u more feeling, andthe hook is the first think to be pulled, instead of the sinker before the hook being pulled first setting the hook second, if u know what i mean, when i set the hook its and upward motion, sinker first way i think makes the hook set moreless straight out of the fishign mouth because the sinker weight keeps it down

  • @Andycathunter9999 thanks

  • @thundermistlures thanks

  • @ThleTruth I'd say gizzard shad is the prime number one bait for Channels in Ohio! They are very easy to catch in a cast net below dams on most major rivers. Something to take note of though, is that large numbers of shad die every winter, making them very hard to get until they spawn about mid July. I turn to large emerald shiners and and large bluntnose minnows, and if I have time I'll get some creek chubs. Good luck!
