This Embassy CD is now distributed by Discovery Records Ltd and can be purchased from most good record shops in the UK. It is also available on-line from www.discovery-records.com as well as from other internet-based retailers such as Amazon. Also worth checking eBay dealers. Any problems got to www.raypilgrim.co.uk website.

In the early 60's, around 1 in 20 of all singles sold in the UK were covers on the Embassy label. And if they had been included in the official hit parade, there would have been several Embassy records in the UK Top 30 every week.

Embassy recordings were also released on other labels in dozens of countries around the world ... some of which are shown in this video.

Now after 45 years, the Embassy label lives again with this new CD of 24 great Lennon & McCartney songs plus 2 other songs closely related to the Beatles. This video gives a brief sound-bite of each one.

So meet The Typhoons, one of the best remembered names on Embassy.

And as a bonus, the CD contains two tracks recorded by septuagenarian Typhoons, Ray Pilgrim and Mike Redway, in May 2010 ... so listen to how they sound today compared to over 45 years ago!

  • They may not have absolutely nailed The Beatles sound, but the fact is a lot of groups (not just Liverpool, but worldwide) sounded - still do! - an awful lot like this.

  • Hey, check out Mike Redway's website at "redrockselection" followed by "." followed by "com". There is loads of great back catalogue stuff from Mike available on there!

  • I would love to hear 3 songs by Mike Redway: "A Forever Kind Of Love"; "No One Can Make My Sunshine Smile"; "I Want To Stay Here" and "Go Away Little Girl". Maybe your grandad still has copies of them :-)

  • mike redway is my grandad
