The rattler was at the top of the Vermillion Cliffs (AZ) laying out in the sun on top of a sandstone knoll. The hike is called Sand Hills and goes through a narrow crack at the top of the cliffs. I walked over to talk to my daughter and almost stepped on the rattler because I didn't see it. It buzzed at me and I jumped back. The rattler retreated under the crack seen in the video.
