I installed a Lace single coil resonator pickup in my Johnson Resonator, and decided to record an original slide blues-backing track, so I could practice my harmonica playing (which needs a lot of work). Its a basic I-IV-V blues progression with a simple turn in the Key of G. I recorded and mixed 5 tracks on my Tascam DP-004 multi-track recorder. Two Resonator Tracks in Open G, one rhythm and one with a slide thru a Peavey Delta Blues 1x15, a bass track using my Peavey Millennium BXP Bass thru a GK Backline 110, a harmonica track using a Hohner Special 20 in the key of C thru a Peavey Delta Blues Amp, and an 84 bpm drum track on an Alesis SR-16. The first video clip is of the slide scratch track and it doesnt line up perfectly, so dont beat on me too bad about that. The other video clips are of the actual recordings of the bass and rhythm tracks. The final video is laid over the final mixed audio track. Thanks for Watching.

  • Really nice.

  • @fngrpkn06 - Thanks Randy

  • This must be one of best sounding slow blues on slide guitar. The tone and mixing is great. Be grateful if you could take look at the slow blues on my channel and offer any comments to help me along. Thanks.

  • @carsickphil - Thanks Phil

  • Nice guitar sound. I'd like to here this with a couple cups of coffee in you cause it's draggin. Can you tell me what strings you are using? Thanks for sharing!

  • @heckfricker - I like it slow and surupy! Those strings are D'Addario Resonator EJ42's 16 guage.

  • @Naff83 - I sometimes play stripped bare, it's not a pretty sight.

  • Dude some nice playing there....

be intersted to see how you carry that guitar without all that backing .....

just you and the guitar stripped bare.....

  • @spenlaub - That would make sense, seeing how you are a bass player. You will find a lot of bass lines in my other videos.

  • i'll be honest, i found this boring till the bass part
