Canon HF M301 camcorder review. This is my personal review of the Canon HF M301 camcorder I saw at COSTCO. In this world shortage of a good camcorder that is great in video that equals the Fliip Ultra HD.

Just about any camcorfder can muster up the video, no big deal. CMOS technology at Canon passes most junk on the market. What lacks all over the video world is external microphone plug in.

You want to be normal, buy normal stuff. You want to be extra good? Get the M31 model or if you don;t have the money, get the M301 BOTH have external microphone plugins.

You need a Rode external mic, YOU NEED THIS!

If you want to jump ahead also get the AZDEN wireless mic system also. Cost with camera and both the mic systems $1,000 or so.

Don't worry, be happy... get these items and you can do anything. Edit program should be the Pinnacle 14 Ultimate, on ebay for about $80.

This is the real deal... http://www.mlsprovideos.com

  • Sheesh... this is MY REVIEW and well over 10,000 people has viewed it and many has bought it because of MY REVIEW. COSTCO has thanked me and also YouTube has made me a partner because of my reviews. So I say to you 8stringthing, when you have a degree in police science, a former U.S. marshal, an advertising executive, then you will be able to determine what a review can be. Have a nice day, and I will be sending folks over to you... please give them a nice review also.

  • I shoot 90% of my professional video with a flip ultra HD camera, because I keep it in my pocket all the time. The only reason I paid $500 for for the Canon HF31 is the external microphone plug. A pro video is crap if only the video is good, if the audio picks up extra noise??? bad news. So the M31 with the Rode shotgun mike or the Anzen wireless mic... does professional work I get paid big bucks for.

I do work for the regional airport, rock and rool bands, Renaissance faire's and alike.

  • The COSTCO I went to was in Medford, Oregon.

  • Iput this short review up and over 2,000 views. I never knew how a short clip could draw so many people. This is a great camera for the bucks. I own the M31 model and love it at a cost of $500. Go figure. Happy video shooting... Bill

  • So you're the reason Costco is sold out. My JVC mini DV I purchased in 01 works but takes too long to transfer video. I have been looking for a new camera. Guess I need to wait until they have them in stock again. Nice review.
