My Father responded on Sept 6 while a on a patrol mission in his F-86. And on Sept 11 shot one Knat while fighting single handed with 4 IAF Knats. I was barely 2 years old but still recall our servant crying out ," Shastri de Maut" while on top of our roof in Sargodha. My father earned a Sitara-E-Jurrat given to him by Ayub Khan.

My Grandad (retd. Army officer at that time) that all of our "muhala" was listening to their own radios in their very own houses. But at 02:06 from somewhere came the voice of someone proclaiming "NARAH E TAKBEER" and he says we all answered in unision as we left our homes without any idea of where we were going "ALLAH O AKBAR"
