Bulls vs Knicks 1996 - Game 5 - Michael Jordan 35 points, waves bye-bye

Michael Jordan "waved bye-bye" to Spike Lee and the New York Knicks, as his 35 points led the Bulls to a series-clinching 94-81 win at the United Center.

After nailing a three in the fourth quarter, MJ waved goodbye to Spike Lee, the famed director and avid Knicks fan - as if to say "Game over. Go home."

With the win, the Bulls advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals to square off against the Orlando Magic, the team that knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs the season before.

What separates Jordan from his two "heirs", Kobe and LeBron, is MJ, despite all his endorsements and iconic status, at the end of the day just wanted to win at all costs. Kobe and LeBron have a little diva to them, especially LeBron. If the three of them were in a gladiator-type environment, Jordan would survive because unlike the other two he'd be willing to get dirty and bloody to be the last one standing.

I wouldn't slouch on Derek harper when it comes to defense. But overall, he did all he could to try to "contain" mj, you can only hope to limit his scoring opportunities. You can't stop him alone. Harper's a tough defender learning from pat Riley himself. But again, Jordan is in a class by himself
