My little venture up to Ikebukuro with Norman England was to go see the premiere of gokutsuma deka. A exploitation Yakuza film. For this video I decided to discuss the meaning of Japanese movies and their reception internationally.

  • Are you really in Japan?

  • @SamanthaVlassis well. Thanks to the miracle of modern day technology. I can be anywhere! :)

  • Wow, this guy has less than no clue. He has a negative clue.

  • @kuuzo which guy? Are you talking about Norman England? Yeah.. He seemed like he didn't have a clue what was going on in that clip.

  • Watch a Japanese movie that's not horror, Robot, live action anime, Godzilla.....chances are it's going to be a good film. But a lot of people think Japanese films are only horror and samurai stuff...which is way wrong. They make "normal" films all the time. It's just not popular to talk about them.

  • @LifeFirst Actually, in this video I'm talking more about the type of films you're talking about. Its only the horror, anime, yakuza, or godzilla films that actually get good attention overseas from Japan.

  • @Hatterific rock on bro. i agree with u

  • I think that Japanese movie Liar Game is interesting.

Maybe not for americans, because you have to be smart to understand it. But for Europeans who are good at maths and logic, or psychology it is very nice piece of work.

It is a series, each movie is about one hour long (not like sitcoms just 20 minutes). There is also a long movie at the end of each series.

What is boring, literally killing movie - that is about half an hour of bringing up "what was in previous episodes". Only that sucked.

  • You should watch 1 Litre of Tears. Japanese movies suck if there is action, but if it's conveying emotions and splice of life it's obviously better than American ones.

  • @Radrey Awww! That's a good answer.. hehe.. Very clever!! hehe.. Well, I love Japan because of their DVD box sets.. I have a few and I love it!! :D
