CJack Run Presents...Tribute to musician, songwriter, producer Leonard Stephens Jr.

On July 23, 2009 a talented musician, songwriter and producer in Leonard Stephens Jr. passed away after a battle with a rare form of cancer. In this tribute, Stephens - who also went by L.Boogie and E-Flat - thanks his supporters and shares words of wisdom in a statement recorded on July 17, 2009 - the same weekend two benefit concerts were held in his honor. The tribute is set to "Shine on Me" - a song he wrote and co-produced with another Central New York musician, songwriter and producer Burnell Reed.

Stephens played with many bands here in the area including Electric Relaxation and Brownskin (both featured here on CJack Run TV) and many church choirs and gospel groups. But it didn't stop there. He was also an up and coming producer on the national scale working with R&B artists such as Musiq Soulchild. Two of Stephens' works - "You Deserve More," and "Special," are on Musiq Soulchild's latest CD "On My Radio."

I knew Leonard in high school in Copperas Cove too. I found out about his passing today and I'm so sad to hear he passed away and my prayers go out to his wife and family. He was a great guy!

I just found out about Leonard. I use to sing with him back in high school in Copperas Cove tx. Man! This made me cry. I will see you in the thousand year and the eternal life to come. You are truly missed. Jesus is Lord!!

I just wany to say thank you to who made this video. I have followed Leonard from the Custom Taylor Band. He was such an amazing person and friend. I will always remember his big grin he had when he played. He was such a talent and will truely be missed. But his job here was done...he has touched so many peoples hearts. I will miss him terribly, but will forever cherish the memories I have of him. Thank you once again.
