Dreaming

This was a video ad I made for our 4th year high school science project, telling people to save the environment. I had chickenpox at that time so I had all the time I needed to finish the video.

These hand-drawn pics were animated using Flash. It was my first time doing this kind of thing in flash and was quite happy with the result.

The song used was Etude by Mike Oldfield.

Wow! Great job animating such a long vid and really making the quirky music match the images. I liked how when the contemplative tone of the music being a little darker/lower, you showed the deforestation and then showed the tree's regrowth when the music brightened. You'd think the song was written to suit the story of your vid. Great job!

One question--how did you make that jolty/shifty effect? Is it an effect in Flash?

Just watched it again after a long time and realized that there are missing text past 1:32 x.x I have to re-upload sometime...

Anyway, to get that jolty/shifty effect, I drew multiple versions of the same state and just flipped between those in the animation.

I'm not sure if there's another way to do it if you draw directly on Flash.
