nance, one day at a time, don't think bout yesterday, or tomorrow. today maintain hope in something you will do for yourself. i'm still on happy pills, with me its anxiety that kicks in, low grade depression, but i find it self empowering to keep the one day at a time recovery technique. how we cope is the bottom line.
Have you tried light therapy for SAD? I try to get my face in the sun as much as possible during the dark times of the year. Like today--sat face to the sun out in the unusual warmth here. You hang in there! Meditation and visualization also helps me-- a sort of an old Transcendental method learned more than thirty years ago. Also, a happy side effect of my pain med is that it works like an antidepressant. Less need for Xanax. Tried many like Celexa, but side effects too troublesome! :(
All these labels...i really don't get it. i think we have been so brainwashed about "duty" that we feel badly when we don't do what is generally expected of us. To me, these labels are an excuse, when, if we stopped expecting so much of each other, we would not feel the need to make excuses. And pills will never make you happy. Happiness is a function of your relationship with God.
