This is the problem with a nation of people, none of whom ever stray over their borders. Big country, tiny little narrow minds and no experience outside the white officeplace and the white suburb to speak of.

I have very little experience. I've only been to the hospital 3 times including my birth, and was only old enough to remember one visit. I had no troubles then. Most of the stories are pretty exaggerated, but I am glad private care exists in Canada as well. It really takes strain off the public system, so that helps both those who can afford it and those who can't. I guess the fear of socialism is still alive in many people down south

Whenever I go on vacation, I always run into Cnadiens. I always ask them, "how do you like your health care"? Each and every single one of them has said they love the Cabadien system and most have said they cannot understand wthy Americans are so reticent about going to a national system. Admittedly my sample is small but not one single Canadien has complained about their system!

Umm.. The state does not forbid private care in Canada. There's several private clinic in my city. I'm not saying the canadian system is ideal, far from it, but many of the stories are greatly exaggerated.
