Nurse mare foals are bred for the express purpose of the mare's milk. They are considered a by product, "throw away foals." Their mother's milk is then used to nurse a high dollar mare's foal. Dinky is a nurse mare foal.

This is such an important book for people to read and learn and maybe something can be done to stop this from happening. It is a sad story for so many but for little Dinky it has a very happy ending. Quite remarkable.

This book trailer brought tears to my eyes, even though it has a happy ending. It makes me think of all the other "little ones" who maybe didn't find someone to love them.
