Short film showing Lion Fish hunting at night. These fascinating fish hunt at night looking for small fish. They hunt in packs and stalk their prey before pouncing and engulfing the fish. With the aid of torches, SCUBA divers can help find prey fish and we were lucky enough to see many lion fish hunting on this dive.

  • @vonillahead217 but you gotta admit they are a beautiful fish. almost beautiful enough to trade in for the other unsustainable reef fish from the atlantic.

  • @pak1in5audia you must be high on crack when making that statement! the pterois volitan can grow up to 40cm (metric measurement) which is roughly 16in (american standard measurement). can you imagine a 40in lionfish? that thing will scare the shit out of sharks and whales. no scientists would want to come near it enough to measure it. please quit the crack cocaine!

  • Lionfish are an invasive species! They do not belong anywhere in the Atlantic ocean! They have no natural predators, eat unsustainable amounts of reef fish and throw the ecosystem way out of balance. Whoever shot this should've left the camera and brought the speargun instead!

  • that's a stonefish at 2:30, right?

  • @lhugigg8tgf no they can big upto 40 inches
