All I heard was a bad case of hiccups that's why the poor thing was screaming. Pick him up his little face is turning blue.

My kids both said their first word at 5 months old. I am totally serious. It's not difficult,babies learn very fast. You need to talk to your baby and allow the baby to watch your face as you talk. I used to especially repeat the word I was teaching my babies when I'd change their diapers, I just made it a routine to repeat "mama" to them always when I changed diapers. And other times as well of course. When you change the diaper the baby and you are already looking at each other.
