Issa is a BJJ world champion and was looking to make it three out of three Martial Combat wins. His opponent Liu Guo Quan from China is an experienced Sanda fighter who has been working hard on his ground game.

Issa approached the cage accompanied by an army of Evolve MMA team mates, and the Brazilian had a lot of pressure with his club's winning record weighing on his shoulder. Liu was expected to have a slight advantage in the stand up department but Issa looked very comfortable on his feet and threw a few strikes of his own before shooting for the takedown.

Brazilian was in his element once the fight went to the floor quickly mounted his opponent and swiftly submitted him with an arm triangle.
