To people who didn't get it:
The guy who is hurting himself is not even trying to get the job, but he is trying to get everybody to clear out so his friend (the only guy left) has a 100% chance of getting the job. In the end they celebrate the fact that their plan worked and drink Pepsi max, and dance like hooligans on the street.
