Don sings "I Know What Love Is," from his DVD It's A Great Day: Don White Live in Watertown. For more on Don White and Don's music store, visit www.donwhite.net.
I had the pleasure of seeing Don in Lima OH at a Songwriter's Set concert series. His blend of comedy based on the most profound truths will bring laughter and tears. He's unforgettable.
Saw Don & Christine Lavin at the Ark in Ann Arbor some years ago & have been a fan since. While not a great singer, he sure can tell a story with his song writing, and just in verse. I've been listening to this again for the past couple days and still fog up every time.
Please go see Don White live if you have the chance! My wife and I saw Don play at a house concert last year, which led to my 8 year old son and I learning this song together and being asked to play it at a wedding. It was an incredible experience for the both of us, and shows how a song can take on a life of it's own and become a gift that can be passed on to others. The video of our performance can found through my user name.
I saw Don at the Wachusett Folk Festival yesterday & when he sang this, I couldn't help but cry. I spoke to Don briefly after his performance and told him I thought he was amazing...and he was so gracious and humble. Thank you, Don. Oh, and his plug about crying and laughing wthiin ten minutes...well, yeah. It's true.
Heard this song back in 99. I was driving here in Detroit and had to pull over to wipe the tears away.
