At this time we wish and pray the Iranian people achieve the freedom they so desperately want, and that the totalitarians go as peacefully as did the Soviet Empire when it collapsed after the Berlin Wall opened. The world stands with you!

This edition of our program is from 2006, and lays out the vital issues at stake in today's Iranian revolution.

Iranian democracy expert Bahman Batmanghelidj briefs you on the regime in Iran and how to promote democracy. He is the Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy in Iran.

This is an edition of Conservative Roundtable, the nationally broadcast conservative television program hosted by Howard Phillips, and produced by The Conservative Caucus.

  • It's pretty sad to know that Iran had a democracy before Britain and the US replaced it with a dictatorship.

  • Mr. Batmanghelidj is absolutely right. Listen to him, he says it exactly as how its is. Please keep these voices of democracy and truth alive.

    Thank you,

    An Iranian

  • I have high respect for your family, and bringing the new sports to Iran as well.

  • The people and the prayers of the world are with Iran to be free! If the Berlin Wall can fall, and the Soviets crumble, so to can tyranny in Iran!

Don't give up the battle, success is closer than you may think.

  • was a legitimate Shah of Persian Empire, not a dictratorship. And was a proud nation democratic and advanced. Before Us intervention in the '50 Soviet Union wanted to overthorw democracy with a comunist regime. Its not comunist now but they succeded in destroying Ancient Persian Culture that was at Shah Time.

  • i dont think the later motivates "most" iranians. Most Iranians didnt loose anything except their freedom and liberty(and ofcourse their lives were ruined)

  • As Iranians we are very produd of Mr. Batmanghlich.

  • That's my dad, and he sure does know what he is talking about. He is particularly worth listening to because he is one of the few Iranian-Americans that want to help Iran because he cares about the Iranian people, and not because bringing democracy to Iran means reclaiming all that was taken from him during the revolution. Unfortunately, the latter is what tends to motivate most exiles. Such individuals would be wise to take a page out of my father's book.
