being that the gift certificates are in small denomonations, can you use more than one for one purchase or are you really buying 3 cheaper things?

They are coupons for discounts off of a purchase, so they can't be used together.

For example, you could buy $!00 of stuff and use the $15 coupon to save $15.

No - you can only use one coupon per purchase, so you could save $15 on that purchase.
