This video is taken at the Betania School in Chinandega, Nicaragua, which is funded by Fundacion Chinandega 2001. I was touring it with a friend, Elizabeth, who is writing an article. We came in on this group, and when they heard I was from NY, they decided they couldn't play Sinatra's NY NY, but thought they could pull this one off. And BOY DID THEY!!! I rocked my way through the performance, and the whole room was rolling side to side. The horn section kept winking at me, too, so I think I have a couple of new "boyfriends" - When I die, hopefully when these students are much, much older, I want this song performance played at my funeral! I almost drop the camera at the end because I was so excited, but that seems to be the trademark of my videos.........Rock on, kids!
p.s. This school's funding was just cut by 1/2. It is supported entirely by corporate and individual contributions. If you are interested in learning more, email me and I'll hook you up with the school administrator's email address. Until then, crank the volume and sway to the music!!
