Released in 1962, 'Wonderful Land' was the third number 1 single for The Shadows in the UK, following the success of 'Apache' and 'Kon-Tiki'. I am playing my '93 Fender American Deluxe Strat through a recently-acquired TVS3 echo unit and a Line 6 PODxt Pro.

  • Hi Paul,

    Cheers, James

  • Beautiful sound and excellently played ! 5***** from here. Keep it up !

  • Hi Herman,

Thanks for taking the time to watch my video and for your kind remarks. I'm very glad you enjoyed it.

    All the best, James

  • James. The Ampkit has a Vox AC30 amp app you can buy to add to the collection. I am also getting the delays and you can stack them. Looks interesting and fun to play with. The whole set up will cost me 15.00 dollars. It id not perfect and like your set up but if I really get into all the Shadow songs I will buy the hard gear. Where did you get the backing tract for Wonderful Land? Thanks

  • @photobart1

Sounds like fun! I'll send you a message regarding the backing tracks.

    Best wishes, James!

No problem - Let me know if I can be of any further help.

    Cheers, James

  • I have the whole song down now. I just need the goodies (echo and delays) to make it sound like it was meant to be played. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the nice comments. I am aware of the Ampkit app, but have not used it personally. Looks like a very cool app. I guess you would need multi-tap echo and a Vox AC15 or AC30 simulation to get close to the Hank Marvin sound.

    Thanks again, James

  • Nice cover of my favorite Shadow song. I am trying to figure out the sound through the AmpKit App delay on the IPhone. Have you tried that yet or anyone out there played with the Ampkit for sound of Hank Marvin.
