CBS affiliate KHOU in Houston still does a sign-off of sorts in between infomercials on Sunday mornings. They don't actually go off the air or play the national anthem, they just go to black (with their "bug" appearing for a few seconds), then have the station's logo over the test pattern tone (which I fast-forwarded through). They "sign-on" about 15 minutes later.
Recorded between 4:10-4:30 am on Sunday, April 27, 2008.
WHAT?! KHOU still does sign-on/sign-offs?! How unusual can they get!!!

Very rarely does any station/network sign off with the national anthem these days.

Really? Did not know WTSP still did that. Wish we could get a tape of it. I wish all stations were still required to do the National Anthem.

WTSP in St. Petersburg/Tampa, also a CBS affiliate (owned by Gannett), has also done the same transition to fill a 20-minute gap on late Sunday/early Monday mornings, though I believe they do have a National Anthem.
