A WB NS train on track 3, has tripped the detector at Carneys Crossing with a fried bearing on a boxcar in the middle of the very long train--Tracks 1 & 2 very active, to say the least---now what???
Split the train--back it up to nearest siding--set out the bad car--rejoin the train--head West again.
Well, not so fast--after three hours--another problem at The Cassandra Bridge.
A long, but safe morning on The West Slope, in the mountains of PA . Enjoy.

  • Well, it is not everyday that you see a broken train moving at "walking speed."

Or cars going around flashing crossing--every video is not always a fast train--lol

    Doug

  • Yes--there are multiple detectors there.

Great place to watch a train go by----

Eastbounds, very loud up the grade and Westbounds flying by with horns.

    Great place for video cameras!!

  • Thanks for the rating, i was getting worried--lol

  • For the last train. It's like a crossing manufaction.

  • i tried to look at all the post. so not to say the same thing.but what I like best about your video is at the 50 second mark where you make the "double stack" disappear !!! thats pretty wild...

  • Cool Video!!! I love the part how you put real people in the pic especially where you can see the engineer communicating with the control tower! Awesome! Thanks for sharing I know you spent a lot of time getting these pics for us!

  • @nawrock Boxcars are generally free running which means that maintenance is the responsibility of the road the cars are on at the time. So a CN boxcar on NS is under the repair and inspection responsibility of NS.

  • where the heck is the action? I was expecting sparks or smoke at least. I love trains but this seems pretty boring

  • probably a Crappy National boxcar causing the problem

  • is that the 253 detector there with solar panel ?

  • Cool!
