@HanoverFist247 If I remember correctly it was Hanover Fiste from the movie Heavy Metal. You're right that the kids have abdicated their responsibility to invent their own culture. Pretty sad.

@mthai66 I thought you were referring to the things that lead up to punk scene wich is no longer around. So there's nothing going on. It's all recycled stuff. When you recycle something no matter how many times it's just stale material. Kids today have more access but have yet to define themselves with a legit counter culture of their own.So that's what i meant. I spelled my user name different by removing the E at the end, but i ask what is the name :) fyi most kids are indoors gaming.

@HanoverFist247 Not only was I around, I'm old enough to get the reference of your username. Reach Out!

@HanoverFist247 When I was 18 in 1984 I never thought I'd see the Business, Cockney Rejects, etc. play in the US. Now it happens all the time. American kids today have far greater access to shows and recordings than we ever did back in the day. My first band was literally the only Oi! band in Boston in 1985. Today there are numerous street punk bands in town; One of them plays opening day at Fenway park every year. I was there in the 80's. There is waay more going on today.

@HiTekLoLife You're talking to empty space man. It's a generation with no originality or creative scource. Wich is why they listen to punk, rap, rock and hiphop. Because it's easier to sit back and pick someone eles's contributions rather than make up your own.
I feel bad for them, because some of the kids i run across from gaming i do with my clans hate their own generation for this. Some think it's because we have tapped into everything, and now there's really nothing left to explore. dunno.
@JerkFaceTony Really? None of us in the punk movement who took it seriously were exactly "basking" in it. Sure it was fun, but the reason we were doing it was because things were shitty (both socially and economically). Everyone looked and acted the same back then as well, which is why we got off our asses and did something different. Young people today should do the same.
