Madera was a band from Londrina, a city in the north of the state of Parana(Brazil) who starting to make gigs at the begining of 1997 at Universities Partie's and some night clubs as Valentino's Bar and Restaurant at Londrina Town. With a diferent line up at the time with Julio Anizelli on the Lead Vocals and Gustavo Potumati(will would be a former bassist of Londrina's Indie Rock band Espiritos Zombeteiros in the 2000's) they was imediatly recognized by a Theatrical Perfomance with Costumes, Bizarre's stage acts and a very good music who influences are listend by the bands of Grunge Era mixed with Tropicalia as well. Mutantes, Tutti Frutti and Joelho de Porco was one of the Brazillian bands who have the Madera Sound most Likely.
Even "Mangue Beat"(musical movent who have Bring Nação Zumbi) at the time pushed several bands to a new sounds who in the South of Brazil developed themselfs to make your own influences such as:
Patife Band,the teathrical writer Mario Bortolloto and contemporary songwriters like Frank Zappa, Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti and European bands and musicians like AREA, Demetrio Strattos , Karlheinz Stockhausen and many others.
Today the band have a rebirth as "PEDRERA" with the original vocalist Julio Anizelli and make regular gigs around the region of North of parana and south of the state of Sao Paulo.
