Can someone tell me how to keep my progress? I mean,I finished 4 dungeons in a single playthrough, but then I closed the program. When I reentered it,I had everything locked again, even if I typed the same username!

You need to extract everything from the zip file. If you keep playing it from "inside" the zip archive, the save file gets deleted as a temporary file by your operating system when you close the game.

elf for the win, with the elf you can finish the game with pretty much any class. just convert the glyphs, find mystera anur, our the pactmaker, gain piety to to increase your mana. and GREAT BALLS OF FIRE! for everyone.

DUDE! no way, this game is freaking fantastic as is, there is a TUTORIAL to learn how stuff works
and the game slowly and incrementally gets harder as you unlock unlock more features
i cannot think of a more perfect system, Kudos to GCFDesign
IMHO Diablo 3 wouldn't have been such a colossal clusterfuck if Bliz had folks like QCFD working on it (sadly D3 is crap now, but luckily DD is still badas)

Game is too hard. I've played my share of nethack, crawl, angband, and so on, so know about optimizing everything, but desktop dungeons gives you too little to work with and too many unknowns. Needs an easier mode to learn how stuff works.

Binlor Iron shield is a good God to summon at about lvl 8 or 9 when you might kill the boss. plus he can remove some amount of the map.

I haven't unlocked many characters but I feel playing a Human Rogue while praying to Dracul or Tourg is quite amazing. In many games I'll have first strike, 20% leech and 125 damage at level 8.
Thief works as well with this Ideal :3
