  • @MrYou2ber -Murray Perahia blew Van Cliburn away.FYI he was born in the Bronx section of N.Y.C.

  • Kapell and Cliburn: the best pianists America has produced.

  • LOVE IT!

  • i liked ashkenanzy's (spelling?) version better, of the 19th variation

  • Superb!

  • MAGICAL!

  • EXCCELENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Magic interpretation !

  • On BBC Music's August CD the full performance of the Rhapsody by Trpceski with Sir Adrian Boult is included, and it's the best I've ever heard. Don't know if it can be found on YT, but I know it's worth a try :)

  • I add a small very important comment to those who have not heard the performance of 'Julius Katchen' with the 'London PHil Orch under Sir Adrian Boult. Early 1950's recording.

For me this is the benchmark rendition for this piece.

The last 6 variations will leave you dazed , stunned. Try to find this piece.

It's the most electrifing & tension filled rendition. At times it reaches the very edge of control, but doesn't . Sit down, you'll need a chair when you realize you heard this..

    Best luck
