Please email the message below to our lobby organisation (ASL): asl@australiansecularlobby.com
so it can be passed on to the Queensland Minister of Education and the Australian media.

Queensland Education Minister,
Please elevate your State's education system to developed world standard by removing the teaching of Christian dogma from the Queensland Education Act and the Queensland State School curriculum.
Signed,
Concerned, enlightened World citizen.

These outrageous circumstances inspired me to compose/produce 'Why Don't Bees Go to Heaven?". I am a director of The 4th R and the Australian Secular Lobby. Crikey!.. in the name of reason, please help us get this corner of the Antipodes out of the 19th century!

  • The whole world suffers coz the christians love themselves and their imaginary ticket to hevn.

Christianity is all about selfishness.. there is no moral in it.. its just ME ME ME ME

    Well not me... THEM ;)

  • this is B.S. at my primary school you had to have written consent to be EXCLUDED from religious education and year seven I forgot to ask my parents to exclude me so I had to sit through a weekly lesson on god, I think that you should have written consent if you WANT to join the class, I am opposed to this and I think that the whole matter should be revised. Religion should be kept out of public schools like America and make the bible teaching also teach about evolution

  • Part 2 As for the-tell both sides of the issue- issue there would have to be 2 sides for that to happen. Science vs what? ID? ID is creationism dressed up in a badly fitted lab coat. Sneaking religion into school forcing it on kids through an oversight or a technicality shows what faith the faithful have in their religion, which is to say none at all.

  • Ask a person who advocates religion in schools if they mean Christianity or if they are ok with teaching all religions in school. Bet they only mean Xtianity. IMHO If this happens it should be all religions and only in an ELECTIVE comparative religion class in high school or college. NOT a science class & NOT in a grade school where young minds can't differentiate between science & faith yet. End part 1

  • @AxiomSpagMonster Unfortuntely it's not against the constitution for the States to pass laws about religion, only for the Commonwealth to do so.

  • Hm, I'm sure people grow out of fairy tales by childhood...but to force it down on them even after they are 5..

  • @dianaware

"Religion is a personal belief. In that sense Atheism is a religion too."

    Wrong on two counts:

    1) Atheism is not a belief, it's the absence of the belief that there is any god;

    2) Not every belief is a religion, in fact no single belief is a religion.

And if you couldn't find out what it was about, you must not have watched it.
