I've been developing a small (8" x 8" x 12") ROV submarine called "ROV-1" to explore an underwater cave near where I live high in the mountains of Northern California. This is a video I took just after I completed building the tether for ROV-1 (July, 2010) and noticed some connection problems. I am currently working on a new ROV design that has a lot of improvements over ROV-1 (including a new tether system that is much more elegant). Best of all, I'm making the entire project open-source/ open hardware! For more information, visit OpenROV.com
How did you water proof everything, I'm in the process of building one and I cant seem to get a tight enough seal around the propellers, are yours dc motors people tell me you can submerge them but I would rather not i'd like to keep everything dry seeing how I spend 150 on each electric motor.
