Starting on the south side of Arroyo Pool, a clockwise traversal of the entire loop. As always, poor video quality is solely by YouTube so you should check out the much better quality version at http://www.vimeo.com/942665

  • Thanks for the kind words, mate. You got that right--YouTube really craps up videos. HDYouTube (meaning at least old-time analog TV quality), where are you?

  • Jim, your voice has been heard, and I think YT now offers HD options. Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you so very much! Seriously. Based solely on your post, I researched this. What I found was that YouTube HD is still up in the air and who knows when and what form it will take. HOWEVER, I happened upon the site vimeo that provides FULL RESOLUTION video (up to 720p HD) and I've begun porting my vids (as user jimonabike). Bye bye, YouTubeCrappy.

  • Glad to be the first rating for your execllent work. This has to be the first video blog of the Davis bike loop. Great job! The original video must be really nice to watch.

  • Yes, you are correct. It may take a while since vimeo limits to 500mb a week and the highest quality originals are about that each, but it looks like you (and the discerning world) will someday get to see the quality original of this vid. And future vids won't have YouTubeCrappy's 10min limit so less speed up and less segmentation. Hope to post a single vid of the entire Cape Cod Rail Trail in proper quality next week. Oh, and I also post a group (channel) under bicycling on vimeo.

  • i live in davis...

  • Really good reference. ALthough i would like to see more "location cues" such as "Bike shop" in the video.

  • I've been on this course before and it is probably one of the more awesome routes any cyclist like myself could ever ask for. Thanx, Davis, for creating a haven for bicycle enthusiasts everywhere!

And thanx, jimconabike for showing me the way.
