  • Why not switch Puhl and Cruz??

  • I guess you could if you want to. You could've put Cruz anywhere in the lineup and he will still .300.

  • Why joe neikro why not Nolan Ryan he hit 2 homeruns one season if I'm not mistaken

  • You have a legitimate argument. Nolan Ryan and Joe Neikro were neck and neck. Ryan is the strikeout king but Neikro's tenure with the Astros was slightly longer and he was a consistent winner like Ryan. Ryan is a member of the all-time Astros starting rotation but he could've been the ace too (obviously). It was tough. Nolan Ryan is a Hall-of-Famer because of his great years with the Angels.

  • Thank you very much. I remember being a little kid impersonating Jose Cruz's batting stance with that leg kick thinking I was on top of the world.

  • r.i.p ken caminiti

  • @Pipes12 ditto. I was like Berkman? nope.

  • yah biggio!!! Also, no Nolan Ryan b/c he switched teams and likes the Rangers better or what? lol.

  • I know, no line up is perfect, but Asmus batting 6th? Also I would have put Berkman in Left.

  • @randomwhiteguy8784

or Mike Scott for that matter...

Try this one Biggio 2B Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuhl RF CE-SARRR Ce-DE-no CF Bagwell 1B Caminiti(if you must) 3B Jose Cruuuuuuuuuuz LF Ausmus C Metzger SS Nolan Ryan P

  • no #9 nolan ryan

  • @randomwhiteguy8784 We'd have to get Nolan from the California, Los Angeles, Anaheim, well whatever they are Angels. They've got him as their all time starter and the Rangers want him too. We have some terrific starters to pick from between Dierker, Knepper, Niekro, Ryan, etc.

  • As a longtime Astros fan circa 1979, I agree with most of this except Cruz was LF and Puhl was RF. I would give the nod to Berkman over Puhl, Reynolds over Metzger, Ashby over Ausmus. I agree with Neikro over Ryan but would probably gone with JR Richard

  • good line up but how about alan ashby instead of brad ausmus

  • craig biggio is one of the most hard working and greatest second baseman who ever played the game i would give my shoulder to bagwell for him to get to 500 bombs and oh ya for astros fans in a few years comin we will be up again we have some really good pitching in farm system hittin not really but pitching amazing!!
