Additional Info:
This is a study on Mary and the ending moments of her life as a Campbell. It's mostly about the tragedy of what happened to her family and how that in turn persuaded her to take Azazel's offer in bringing John back in exchange for the unborn Sam Winchester. The alternate universe part goes with deleting Dean entirely since after Michael erased the memory of Dean (5x13 Song Remains the Same) something else had to have taken place so in this version of the past there is no Dean. As Cas said "Time is fluid" so it's bound to be different.
