Ingredients:

Butterflied leg of lamb -- 1.8kg used in video

Marinade:

2 onions
Half a handful fresh oregano
2 cloves garlic
1-2 tbs salt (depending on taste, it needs to be quite salty as some of this will drip off during cooking)
2 tsp pepper
1-2 tbs sumac (gives a nice 'middle eastern' flavour, can be sour if overused so add to taste)

Turkish bread or pita
Tzaziki
Lettuce
Onion
Tomato

I am Turkish, entire point of doner being vertical is not letting fat burn by dipping into fire and give it a bad smell, it is also unhealthy. also you not just can cut meat while cooking, you should, you burned the outside of it, that way you can get your slice before it dries. It is a good start but find an electric one that can be used vertical, and also use more fat, put it between layers, you can also mix with some beef to lessen the lamb odor if you wish.
