I took Barry Galbraith's arrangement of DARN THAT DREAM, increased the tempo (ala Ahmad Jamal Trio/1959) and tweaked it with some additional passing chords, just a bit of walking bass, a some other variations. Barry was one of the best jazz guitarists of the 1950s and gave us a lot of great arrangements. In this video I'm playing a Dell'Arte custom dreadnaught built for me by John Kinnard

The audio on this clip doesn't do this incredible guitar justice.

  • That guitar sounds sexy

  • ok. im taking this a step at a time. Can anyone tell me how that 2nd chord ( A#m9) fits inside the key of G? What is the harmony behind it? Is it some kind of tritione sub? If so explain. Thanks

  • Absolutely awesome! I've also learned this recently from Barry's great book! Is your arrangement available? I'd love to learn it as well! Thanks for the great playing!

  • Very nice!

  • Amazing tone from that guitar. I have a Gypsy Jazz Dell Arte and absolutely love it. I did not know they made acoustic guitars, but now I do, and am a better human being for it. Thank you kindly :)

  • Hey David, great job on all your videos! I'm also trying to teach guitar on youtube. I was linked here from the acoustic guitar forum. So are you a professional guitarist in Nashville?

  • very good! I hope you like my version too.
