@RonBeaufort - Happy easter Ronnie, I hope your taking it easy now. Thanks for the letting me know that I will have a "intense" hands on experience with plenty of drilling at booootcamp, satisfaction guaranteed! :-) Sounds like value for money to me son. How many days is bootcamp? It sounds pretty hardcore. How many hours a day do you drill it in for? and how long is your break? Did you know that its against health and safety regulations to stare at a screen for intense long periods of time. x

Hey Ron!
One of the best training videos that you could find on youtube, not only speaking about PLC's. Thanks very much for sharing this high quality material!

you have to love boolean logic

most PLC classes start at the "beginner level" and unfortunately most of them STAY at the "beginner level" ... as you can see, there is more to the story - and the "beyond beginner" details can be critical to understanding the PLC - and in troubleshooting some types of problems in the field ... thank you for your comment ...
Hello Ron, I think you need stop banging on about your bootcamp. What happens at bootcamp, stays at bootcamp? Do you all camp out in the woods? having a spit roast..... with a generator running all your laptops and plcs from your tent. Having rigged up loads of sensors hanging from the trees and light curtains all around that activate your pilz safety relay to keep out intruders? Some good info though Ron but youve put me off bootcamp. x

Greetings Michael: Someone else (not I) came up with the "bootcamp" name because the training is "intense" and more like military drilling than a tech school. So no, there's no camping out – just one demanding hands on exercise after another with only one scheduled break (for lunch) each day. It's definitely NOT for everyone but students who are really motivated to learn PLCs get a 100% money back satisfaction guarantee that it works. I hope this answers your questions. Best regards, Ron

Ron, upon thinking more, what happen when this happens,
Step 1 - Switch A is ON and Input Bit is ON, PLC scans and go on to step 2
Step 2 - Upon step 2 switch A went OFF.
Step 3 - Will the PLC updates the Output bit with a "one" for at least one scan [Step 3] and turn it off in the next scan?

Yes, the processor will not Update the Input bit again until the next Step 1 so it will "miss" the new OFF status for one scan. So using the XIC-OTE rung shown in the video, the Output bit will be written to a status of ONE for a single scan during Step 2 just as you said. If you have more questions, I suggest posting them on one of the free public PLC forums on the "Links to Resources" page of my website. These YouTube comments don't allow much room for very detailed questions and answers.
