May 31, 2008 - Why hundreds and hundreds gathered on an cold drizzly Saturday morning.
SUBJECT BACKGROUND:
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and the USDA are very determined to aerial spray the human populations with untested biochemical pesticides in the urban areas of the Monterey Bay and San Francisco Bay regions. They allege that they are doing so to eradicate the Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM).
They have sprayed the human population in Monterey twice and the population in Santa Cruz once so far... with over 600 complaints of illnesses. Their stated plans are to aerial spray from every 30 days to every 90 days, throughout the year, for an indefinite amount of years to come.
Aerial spraying is planned to start June 1, 2008 in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties and on August 1, 2008 for San Francisco Bay Area communities.
LBAM has been here in California for many years and the CDFA admits that there has not been a single documented case of crop damage from LBAM.
