I sat down and tried to carve with some of the knives I showed you in the previous videos. As you can see, I am having trouble cutting into the wood with the knives I have. I am not sure if they are just not sharp enough or that the wood that I am carving is too green and needs time to season itself.

  • @creativecompanion Thank you for the tip. I am going to have to find some basswood. I am also thinking about trying my hand at that staff again. It has had some time to sit in the garage and give up some of it's moisture. It might be easier to carve now that it has dried out a bit.

  • Try some bass wood. My son got a 20 lb box on amazon for $25. He's been able to work with it relatively easily and he's only 10. With your art skills I bet you would turn a piece of bass wood into a master piece.
