1994 Josee Chouinard - Worlds SP -- Canada

Josee was a delightful, feminine skater with big jumps, that sometimes misfired on her. Americans first noticed her when she was rushed to her 94 Olympic LP early, after a bit of highjenks by the infamous Tonya Harding. Often skating in 50's style gloves, she had many interesting performances, but never managed to ascend to the World podium. She was a three time Canadian ladies champion (91,93,94), and won many additional Canadian medals.

She would have won the short program without that small mistake on the flying spin.

It's been so long, I can't remember how it turned out! I don't think she won that medal, she so deserved! thanks for commenting, best wishes

The results of the short program were: 1)Sato, 2)Bonaly, 3)Chouinard, 4)Szewcenko, 5)Keillmann

Then in the free skate Josee fell 3 times and completed only 3 of 7 planned triples and dropped to 5th behind both Szewcenko (who moved up to bronze) and Kiellmann (who moved up to 4th). Sato held off Bonaly for the gold on a 5-4 split and Bonaly ripped her silver medal off at the infamous medal ceremony, implying it was home country edge moreso then Sato's superior skating that denied her the gold.

She had an awesome triple lutz, and a huge double axel, could have been with the Tonya and Midori's going for the triple axel.
